Above items must be completed before starting the program or volunteering to become a tutor.
The existing ABCD Program services students in grades K-6th.
Step Ladder Tutoring Program has targeted the Middle School “Special Needs” students with learning challenges, "Borderline" and "General Education" students (ages 12-14) as our main focus.
These groups were chosen because Middle School is a critical point in student's lives:
Studies have shown that, students with various forms of special needs are likely to benefit from additional educational services.”
Students will be carefully selected through self-referrals from students and referrals from the parents or schools. General Education students benefit from the academic assistance, mentoring and emotional support.
We accept students who have the potential to exceed their current grade level, but lack the motivation. We are:
Helping students to achieve:
Success through Teamwork, Empowerment, and Planning
Goals and Objectives:

If we show them how,
they can make it.

What’s unique about this project is that it utilizes the talents of our citizens, and embraces the existing spirit of volunteerism throughout the community.
We will use a network of peers, high school and college students; plus retired teachers and volunteers from the community to make this project a success..
